Fatal Motorcycle Crash Update
A 52-year-old motorcyclist has died following a Tuesday afternoon crash in Providence Township.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Edwin L. McMullen of Eden Township was traveling southbound on Main Street shortly before 5 p.m. when a Ford F-250 attempted to turn left onto Main Street from eastbound Cinder Road.
The pickup truck struck McMullen, throwing him approximately 100 feet from the point of impact. Police said McMullen was conscious following the collision but later died at Lancaster General Hospital.
The driver of the pickup, a 42-year-old man from Elkton, Maryland, was cited for failing to properly stop at the stop sign.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The crash occurred approximately three miles north of Quarryville.

East Hempfield Township — Engine Company 69 along with 67 responded for a reported sprinter van on fire on the on-ramp to 283 E. at Spooky Nook Road.
Engine Company 69 arrive reporting one van well off and stretched one waterline to place the fire under control.
Traffic on 283 E. was closed for a period of time while crews operated.
