ENTRAPMENT — PIN JOB | PA TURNPIKE
LANCASTER COUNTY, PA
Emergency crews were called to the Pennsylvania Turnpike late Thursday night for a serious crash involving a vehicle that became pinned beneath the rear of a parked tractor-trailer.
The crash occurred on the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike near Mile Marker 282.8 in Denver, during a period of heavy rain and poor driving conditions.
Initial reports indicate two occupants were inside the vehicle, with one person pinned in the wreckage. The trapped occupant was reportedly experiencing leg numbness following the collision.
Rescue crews responded to the scene and began working to access the trapped occupant and safely remove them from the heavily damaged vehicle.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and increase following distance during heavy rain. Wet roadways can dramatically increase stopping distances and the risk of losing control.
