STORM DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
WHITE HORSE, LANCASTER COUNTY PA
Tonight’s storms brought significant weather into the White Horse area of Lancaster County, and the aftermath required more than simply looking at what was damaged.
Makin’ The Hit’s Robotics Team assisted the White Horse Fire Company with storm damage assessments throughout the area.
Our assessment focused on several critical areas within minutes after the storm.
Life Safety — identifying hazards and areas where residents or emergency responders could be at risk.
Agricultural Assessments — checking barns, agricultural structures, animals, silos and other farm-related hazards.
Storm Path Assessment — documenting damage patterns and helping determine the potential path and characteristics of the storm through the area.
This information will help emergency services identify hazards, prioritize areas of concern and provide valuable information to weather officials.
The National Weather Service is expected to conduct an official survey tomorrow. Makin’ The Hit’s team will assist with that assessment, and we will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
Tonight’s response is another example of how technology, emergency services and community partnerships can work together to provide a clearer picture of what happened and, most importantly, help keep people safe.
